It’s the 13th day of the 25 Days of Christmas preseason rankings for West Coast Preps, this time with the No. 13 team.

The rankings, which will tab the top 25 football teams in the Bay Area, announce one team each day through Christmas Day. The No. 1 team will be unveiled on Dec. 25 at

Only schools located within cities on the Bay Area Census are eligible for the poll.

West Coast Preps unveiled the No. 25, No. 24, No. 23, No. 22, No. 21, No. 20, No. 19, No. 18, No. 17, No. 16, No. 15 and No. 14 football teams in the Bay Area earlier this week.

No. 13: Rancho Cotate

The defending Northern California champion at the 3-A level is back and ready for more.

Rancho Cotate finished the 2019 season with a bang, winning eight of its final nine games before falling in the state championship game. It won a North Coast Section Division III crown – the program’s first section title since 2002, when it went back-to-back in 2001-02 – and came out on top in the region.

This year, Rancho Cotate’s roster features a plethora of talent – featuring senior defensive star Mihalis Santorineos.

Santorineos’ statistics include 237 tackles, four sacks, six fumble recoveries, six blocked PATs and two forced fumbles, along with a First Team All-Northern California selection. That gaudy production lifted him to offers from Colby, Pacific, Pacific Lutheran, Puget Sound and Whittier.
