Bellarmine baseball commitment

A college destination was decided by Bellarmine’s Stephen Kwak.

Kwak, a senior right-handed pitcher at Bellarmine, committed to Pomona-Pitzer, a Division III program in the NCAA.

As a junior, Kwak registered one scoreless inning on the mound against Jesuit before the remainder of the season was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Big East school offers Valley Christian guard

Valley Christian sophomore guard Pasha Goodarzi’s first Division I offer rolled in.

DePaul sent an offer Goodarzi’s way, offering one of the top up-and-coming players nationally in the 2023 recruiting class.

Valley Christian went 9-16 last season and appeared in the Central Coast Section playoffs.

Two offers pour in for Bellarmine lineman

Bellarmine senior lineman Russell McKeever saw two offers come his way.

Pacific was the first offer for McKeever on Thursday, followed by Linfield on Friday. McKeever is part of a Bellarmine program looking to make some noise under its new coaching staff – led by Jalal Beauchman – when the season eventually begins.

Other offers:

  • The third offer over the last month – and the fourth overall – was sent Berean Christian senior athlete George Davisson’s way from Mayville State. Davisson’s other offers include Carthage, Culver-Stockton and Puget Sound.
  • McPherson College was the first scholarship offer for Castro Valley senior running back Michael Lewis. Lewis, who also boasts a 4.0 GPA, was a top performer this offseason, garnering two Xclusive Speed Bay Area Top 100 Showcase Running Back MVP offers.
  • Pacific University offered Foothill senior tight end and linebacker Joey Lodato.
  • Pacific was offer No. 2 for Kennedy-Richmond senior Bobby Williams, joining Golden West College, which became his first offer on Dec. 9.
  • Leland senior tight end Corbin Yates garnered an official offer from FCS school Valparaiso. La Verne was offer No. 1 in December for Yates, who finished with 493 receiving yards and seven touchdowns in 2019 for a Leland squad that was the Central Coast Section Division V runner-up.
  • Pittsburg senior quarterback Eli Brickhandler added another offer, this time from Black Hills State. Brickhandler, who accumulated 3,002 total yards at Rocklin’s Whitney High School last year, also holds offers from Iowa Wesleyan, La Verne, Lawrence Tech, Rocky Mountain College and Saint Anselm.
