Freedom softball commitment
Freedom 2024 third baseman Madison Evers-Lyles achieved a dream she’s set out for during much of her career.

Evers-Lyles verbally committed to Sacramento State after a superb junior season where she hit .536 with nine doubles, eight home runs and 44 RBIs. Freedom captured the Bay Valley Athletic League regular season crown and advanced to the North Coast Section Division 1 semifinals.
Acalanes standouts earn more offers
Acalanes 2024 receivers Paul Kuhner and Trevor Rogers picked up more offers over the last seven days.
Kuhner brought in two Ivy League offers from Harvard and Princeton, joining a list with Air Force, Army and UMass. Kuhner caught 33 passes for 441 yards his junior year.
Rogers garnered Fresno State and Nevada offers, part of a list with Army, Bryant, Campbell, Colgate, Colorado State, Dartmouth, Georgetown, San Jose State, UMAss, Washington State and Wyoming. Rogers totaled 1,120 receiving yards and 15 touchdowns on 58 catches as a junior.
Both were part of Acalanes’ record-setting 4×100 relay team this spring, winning the North Coast Section title and then taking second at the state championships in a time of 40.96 seconds – the best time in NCS history.
Rogers was the state’s fourth-place finisher in the long jump at 23-04.00.
Arizona offers numerous football prospects
The University of Arizona had a big week across the Bay Area football landscape. Here is a look at all of its latest offers in the region:
Castlemont 2025 athlete Ellijah Washington earned an Arizona offer. The Silver Bowl finalist’s offer list includes Nevada, Oregon State and San Jose State.
Tennyson 2025 offensive tackle Siosiua Vete was offered by Arizona. His other offers: California, Nevada, San Jose State and Washington State.
Wilcox 2024 offensive tackle Justin Hylkema was one of the stars to announce an Arizona offer. Washington State offered a few days later, joining Colgate, Nevada, UC Davis, UNLV and Utah State.
First football offers
Meanwhile, a Bay Area football quadrant hauled in their first offers.
One of them was from the University of Arizona, which sent an offer to St. Francis 2025 running back Kingston Keanaaina. Keanaaina ran for 780 yards and 10 touchdowns on 5.7 yards per carry as a sophomore at St. Francis, which reached the Central Coast Section Division 1 semifinals.
Las Lomas 2024 lineman Charlie Kruger, a 6’2 and 260-pound prospect, announced his first offer from Lewis & Clark.
Sacred Heart Cathedral 2024 offensive lineman Benny Hatch was offered by Weber State. Hatch is a force in the trenches at 6’3 and 240 pounds.
San Marin 2026 quarterback Daniel Rolovich received his first offer from New Mexico Highlands. Rolovich, whose father is former Hawaii and Washington State head coach Nick Rolovich, has impressed during the spring circuit at San Marin.
Basketball offers
A slew of Bay Area basketball stars announced offers over the past week.
Berean Christian 2024 post Gabrielle Abigor was offered by the University of Portland, which joins California, San Jose State, UC Davis, UC Riverside, UC San Diego, UC Santa Barbara and Washington. Abigor averaged 24.8 points, 15.2 rebounds, 7.6 blocks, 3.2 steals and 2.0 assists as a junior.
California boys basketball Kellen Torrey picked up three offers in the last week: Cal State Maritime, Simpson and Westcliff. Torrey helped California to its best season ever, winning 20 games, advancing to the North Coast Section Division 1 semifinals and a trip to the NorCal quarterfinals.
Oakland Tech girls basketball 2026 star Terri’A Russell picked up a massive Big 12 offer from the University of Oklahoma. The defending CIF Division 1 state champion also holds Sacramento State and San Jose State offers.
Serra 2024 prospect Ryan Pettis garnered a fellow Division 1 offer from the University of Montana. Pettis, who helped Serra reach the Central Coast Section Open Division championship, also boasts a Weber State offer.
Bellarmine football offers
Two Bellarmine 2024 football prospects picked up Division 1 offers.
Offensive tackle Bennett Anderson was offered by Harvard. His other offers: Air Force, Army, Columbia, Cornell, Navy, Pennsylvania, Princeton, San Jose State and Yale.
Quarterback/athlete Parker Threatt was offered by Montana Tech. Minot State and Valparaiso offered previously.
Both helped Bellarmine win both CCS and NorCal titles.
More football offers
Here are more football offers from the region this week:
- Archbishop Riordan 2024 receiver Tyrone Jackson hauled in a Boise State offer. Jackson continues to boost his stock and boasts offers from Oregon, Oregon State, San Diego State, UNLV, Utah, Utah State and Washington State.
- De La Salle 2024 linebacker Drew Cunningham picked up his third offer from the University of Pennsylvania. The other two offers: Army and Columbia.
- De La Salle 2025 edge rusher Matthew Johnson was offered by Notre Dame. The 6’5, 240-pound recruit has 11 other offers: Arizona State, California, Michigan, Ole Miss, Oregon, Oregon State, San Jose State, UMass, USC, Washington and Washington State.
- Menlo-Atherton 2024 tight end Alek Marshall earned more offers from Idaho and San Jose State. The 6’7 tight end and three-star recruit also has Air Force and Portland State offers.
- Monte Vista 2025 tight end Kellan Ford earned offer No. 2 from San Jose State. UNLV offered earlier this offseason.
- San Ramon Valley 2025 outside linebacker Marco Jones is one of the top prospects nationally in his class, with the latest three offers from Michigan, San Jose State and Stanford. Jones is the No. 105 overall prospect in the 2025 class by 247 Sports and holds 15 total offers.
- Serra 2024 tight end Cole Harrison was offered by the University of Idaho. Air Force, Army, Colgate, Georgetown, Northern Arizona and UNLV are also on Harrison’s offer list.
- Serra 2024 athlete Kyon Loud brought home offer No. 2 from the University of Idaho. Loud, a three-star prospect, also boasts a UC Davis offer.
- Tennyson 2024 athlete Sosefo Akuila was offered by BYU. Arizona, California, Nevada and Washington State have also offered.
