St. Francis three-sport athlete commits
St. Francis three-sport senior athlete Carsten Rawls committed to American University for wrestling.
Rawls, also a football and track and field athlete, is one of the top wrestlers in California. He was a Central Coast Section champion in the 182-pound weight class as a sophomore in 2018, following it up with a second-place finish in that same weight class his junior year in the CCS and an eighth-place finish at the state level.
The senior is also a standout football player on the 11th-ranked team in the Bay Area, accumulating 400 receiving yards and 3.5 tackles for loss in 2019.
Penn State is Rashada’s latest offer
Top-shelf Pittsburg sophomore quarterback Jaden Rashada’s offer list expanded last week.
Rashada, rated among the 100 best players nationally in the 2023 recruiting class by 247Sports, was offered by Penn State, joining an offer list that includes Arizona State, Auburn, California, Oregon State, San Diego State, San Jose State and Utah.
Before enrolling at Pittsburg this year, Rashada played at nearby Liberty as a freshman behind current Oregon quarterback Jay Butterfield, completed 12 of 22 passes for 129 yards and three touchdowns on a 10-win Lions squad.
Rashada is part of a star-studded 2023 class on a Pittsburg team that is No. 3 in the Bay Area, as multiple other sophomores boast offers on the roster – receiver Keynan Higgins (Arizona State offer), receiver Israel Polk (Cal offer) and athlete Rashid Williams (Arizona State, Arkansas, California, Oregon State, San Jose State and Utah offers).
Offers galore for Berean Christian standout
Berean Christian senior athlete George Davisson’s second and third offers on the recruiting trail poured in over the past seven days.
Davisson, less than two months after an impressive performance as a quarterback at the Routes vs. Coverage Showcase, brought in offers from Carthage College and Culver-Stockton College – the former an NCAA Division III school and the latter an NAIA program.
Davisson’s other offer is from Puget Sound.
His junior season was filled with high levels of production, finishing with 37 solo tackles, two forced fumbles and seven fumble recoveries.
