A former West Catholic Athletic League head coach is headed down south to take over a Peninsula-De Anza League program.
Carlmont’s Athletic Department announced former Sacred Heart Cathedral head coach Antoine Evans will be the next head coach at the Scots program this upcoming season.
Evans was the head coach at SHC for four years, from 2022 to 2025, leading the Fighting Irish to three Central Coast Section Playoff berths. Most recently, Sacred Heart Cathedral made the CCS Division 2 Championship game this past fall.
Evans joined the coaching staff in 2021 as the team’s defensive coordinator, helping play a vital role on the coaching staff for the state champion Irish.
Evans said he is excited for his new role with the Carlmont program, wanting to encourage and build up a positive team culture, and support his student-athletes.
“I’m blessed and honored to join the Carlmont community,” Evans said. “My focus is on developing a program that values effort, teamwork, and character, while helping every player reach their potential both on and off the field. I’m excited to collaborate with our student-athletes, families, and coaches to build a sustainable culture of excellence.”
Last season, Carlmont finished 2-8 overall and 1-5 in the PAL De Anza League.
