The Central Section Softball Rankings for the 2026 season are here from West Coast Preps. All teams located in cities in the Central Section are eligible.
These rankings were last updated on June 9, 2026. These will be updated every Tuesday morning the rest of the season.
1. Clovis North (23-4-1) | Previous Rank: 1
Back-to-back-to-back. Clovis North secured its third straight section title and left no doubt on the scoreboard. The Broncos dominated Buchanan 17-1 at Margie Wright Diamond, sending Broncos Country into celebration mode and adding another championship to an already impressive run.
2. Clovis East (22-5) | Previous Rank: 2
Clovis East finished its season with a Division I NorCal Regional semifinal appearance, falling in extra innings. All in all, it was a great year for the Timberwolves, who proved they could go toe-to-toe with any team they faced.
3. Madera (20-10) | Previous Rank: 3
Madera advanced past Clovis West in the quarterfinals and pushed defending champion Clovis North to the limit in a 2-1 semifinal loss. The Coyotes finished the season as outright CMAC champions and proved once again they can compete with anyone.
4. Bullard (23-7) | Previous Rank: 4
The Knights’ season ended in the quarterfinals against Clovis East, but not without a fight. Bullard went up 1-0 — and briefly 2-0 before an appeal erased a run — before Clovis East walked it off in the seventh. Even in defeat, Bullard looked like a group that gave everything it had.
5. Buchanan (20-11) | Previous Rank: 5
The Bears reached the Division I championship game but couldn’t keep pace with Clovis North’s offense, suffering a run-rule loss. With a young roster gaining valuable experience, that championship appearance could become motivation for another run next season.
6. Redwood (26-8) | Previous Rank: 6
Redwood survived an extra-inning battle to capture the Division II Central Section title with a 1-0 win over Garces Memorial. The Rangers followed that with another extra-inning victory in the opening round of the Southern California Regional before their season came to an end in the semifinals with a one-run loss to Riverside Prep.
7. Garces Memorial (26-7) | Previous Rank: 7
The Rams suffered a heartbreaking extra-inning loss to Redwood in the Division II Central Section championship game. They responded by upsetting No. 3 seed Oxnard on the road with a shutout win in the opening round of the Southern California Regional. Garces Memorial then pushed No. 2 seed Great Oak to extra innings in the semifinals, but fell by a run to end its season.
8. St. Joseph (24-4-1) | Previous Rank: 8
After another Mountain League title, the Knights’ season came to an end in the D1 quarterfinals. Buchanan’s offense proved too much, as St. Joseph fell 9-5 at home.
9. Clovis West (20-9) | Previous Rank: 9
Clovis West showed all season it was capable of big wins — including spoiling Clovis North’s senior night — but consistency remained the issue. After beating Madera 9-0 during the Easter tournament, the Golden Eagles fell to the Coyotes 5-4 in the D1 quarterfinals.
10. Righetti (20-8) | Previous Rank: 10
Righetti’s season ended with a 3-0 quarterfinal loss to Stockdale. The Warriors still finished second in the Mountain League, earned a big win over Buchanan and pushed St. Joseph to one-run games twice this season.
11. Kingsburg (20-11) | Previous Rank: 11
The Vikings won two playoff games before falling to Redwood in the semifinals. Kingsburg finishes the season with 20 wins and a near-perfect TC-Kings championship campaign.
12. Sanger (16-11) | Previous Ranking: 12
The Apaches were shut out by defending champion Clovis North in the quarterfinals, ending their season. Sanger kept things close at 2-0 for most of the game before the Broncos broke it open with six runs in the fifth inning.
13. Monache (20-9) | Previous Rank: 13
The Marauders did everything possible to keep their season alive against Kingsburg in the quarterfinals. Monache rallied for seven runs in the top of the seventh and briefly took the lead, but Kingsburg answered with two runs in the bottom half to end the comeback attempt.
14. Stockdale (21-9) | Previous Rank: 14
The Mustangs made a strong run through the D2 bracket and reached the semifinals, but Garces Memorial proved too much in a 10-3 loss that ended their season.
15. Chowchilla (21-6-1) | Previous Rank: 15
Chowchilla ended a 15-year drought by capturing the Division III title. Even more impressive, the Tribe accomplished it with just three seniors on the roster.
16. Hanford West (20-14) | Previous Rank: 16
After losing a tough game in the Central Section championship, the Huskies didn’t let that become the end of their story. No. 4 Hanford West went on to win the Division III Southern California Regional title, defeating No. 2 Helix 8-4 in the championship game.
17. Highland (20-8-1) | Previous Rank: 17
After a perfect 8-0 run through SYVL play, Highland’s season ended in the opening round of D2 with an 11-2 loss to Centennial at home.
18. Kerman (19-8-1) | Previous Rank: 18
After beating Hanford West twice during league play, the Lions couldn’t make it a third time, falling to the Huskies in the D3 semifinals.
19. Selma (21-8) | Previous Rank: 19
The Bears picked up a playoff win before running into a tough Redwood squad in the quarterfinals.
20. Mission College Prep (16-15) | Previous Rank: 20
After spending much of the season simply trying to piece together a roster, the Royals captured the Division IV title with a 3-0 win over South. They followed it up with an upset victory over top-seeded Venice in the opening round of the Division III Southern California Regional.
21. Clovis (13-16) | Previous Rank: 21
The Cougars spent league play battling D1 competition in TRAC, but couldn’t turn that experience into postseason success, falling to Righetti in the opening round of D2. A program with plenty of history, Clovis High will look to regroup moving forward.
22. Centennial (16-14) | Previous Rank: 22
The Golden Hawks opened the postseason with a big road win over Highland, but the momentum ended in the next round with a 7-2 loss to Garces Memorial.
23. Frontier (20-9) | Previous Rank: 23
The Titans’ season ended with an 8-3 loss to Monache in the opening round of D2. Frontier finished fourth in SYRL with a 2-6 league record.
24. Dinuba (22-8-1) | Previous Rank: 24
The Emperors picked up two playoff wins before running into a red-hot Chowchilla team in the D3 semifinals.
25. Woodlake (31-4) | Previous Rank: NR
After securing its third straight Central Section title, the Woodlake Tigers also defended their Southern California Regional title, winning the Division IV championship with a 14-4 victory over Grossmont.
