Knights standout announces West Point commitment

The King’s Academy athlete Noah Short is off to West Point after high school.
Short, tabbed as a two-star prospect by 247Sports in the 2021 class, announced his commitment to Army, joining a program that has won 10-plus games in two of the past three seasons under Dan Monken – including an 11-2 mark in 2018 and reaching as high as No. 19 in the Associated Press rankings.
Short, a three-sport athlete who also competes in basketball and track and field, delivered a sensational junior campaign in 2019. Offensively, he ran for 552 yards and six touchdowns, hauled in 18 passes for 404 yards and four scores.
But that only told part of the tale, recording a whopping 160 tackles and team highs in tackles for loss (17.0) and interceptions (5).
All of Short’s efforts helped guide the Knights to a CIF Central Coast Section Division III title – their second consecutive section crown – and a trip to the CIF Division 5-AA regional championship game.
