The Los Angeles Boys Basketball Rankings for the 2025-26 season are here from West Coast Preps.

1. Sierra Canyon (30-1) –
Sierra Canyon solidified itself as the best team in the nation, capturing both the CIF-SS Open Division and State Open Division titles. They end the season with 15 ranked wins. Their dominant postseason run included wins over Santa Margarita, Harvard-Westlake, Notre Dame, Crespi and Corona del Mar.
2. Harvard-Westlake (27-7) –
The Wolverines end the season at the No.2 spot, falling short to Sierra Canyon in the CIF-SS Open Division championship and the Open Division semifinal, giving them a run for their money in both games. Their best wins include Santa Margarita, Damien, La Mirada, Bosco and Crespi.
3. Notre Dame, Sherman Oaks (22-8) –
The Knights finish the year at the No.3 spot, despite ending their season with back-to-back losses to Sierra Canyon and St. Joseph of Santa Maria. Their resume includes wins over Bosco, La Mirada, Crespi, Harvard-Westlake and JSerra.
4. Santa Margarita (28-6) –
Not the ending that many had hoped for Santa Margarita, losing to Sierra Canyon in both the Southern Section and state playoffs. Still, this team was beating everybody at one point, boasting wins over Damien, Bosco, Redondo Union, JSerra and Notre Dame.
5. Damien (32-7) +4
The Spartans end their season in the top five and jump four spots following their miraculous playoff run to win the Division 1 state championship. They went through a gauntlet, taking down Etiwanda, Inglewood, Crespi, Crean Lutheran, Bosco and Folsom to be crowned D1 state champs.
6. La Mirada (24-9) -1
Despite being “upset” by Mater Dei in round one of the state playoffs, they only drop one spot due to their incredible playoff run. The Matadores turned a lot of heads, taking down Bosco and Redondo Union in the Southern Section Open Division playoffs.
7. Redondo Union (27-5) -1
A disappointing end of the season for the Sea Hawks, dropping back-to-back games to La Mirada and Santa Margarita in the Open Division playoffs. Regardless, they had an undeniable resume, beating Centennial, Etiwanda, Mira Costa, JSerra, Crean Lutheran, Damien, Crespi and Notre Dame.
8. St. John Bosco (24-10) –
The playoffs were a roller coaster for Christian Collins and co. They went 0-2 in Open Division pool play, won four straight to reach the Division 1 SoCal state final, but their season ended at the hands of Damien. They had one of the best resumes on this list, with wins over Corona del Mar, Mater Dei, JSerra, Harvard-Westlake, Santa Margarita, and La Mirada.
9. Crean Lutheran (28-8) +1
Crean Lutheran moves one spot after taking down JSerra to be crowned Division 1 CIF-SS champions. They fell short in state against Damien, but have had a strong run this year. They’ve defeated Centennial, Rancho Christian, Village Christian, Fairmont Prep and Crespi
10. Corona Centennial (27-8) -3
The Huskies lost three of their last four postseason games, dropping them three spots. They stay in the top 10 because of wins over Etiwanda, Santiago, Rolling Hills Prep, Roosevelt, Fairmont Prep, Bishop Gorman, Mater Dei, Crossroads, Los Alamitos, and SPXSMA.
11. Crespi (21-14) –
Despite going 2-3 in postseason play, Crespi stays in the top 15 after taking down Corona del Mar and Amat .They end their season with wins over Harvard-Westlake, Loyola, Chaminade, Crean Lutheran, Windward, JSerra and Mater Dei.
12. Etiwanda (26-5) –
It’s been a disappointing end of the season for Etiwanda, going winless in the Open Division playoffs and not qualifying for state. This is still a season to be proud of, boasting wins over Long Beach Poly, Chino Hills, San Gabriel Academy, Loyola, Heritage Christian, Rancho Verde, Cypress, Great Oak, Rancho Christian, Aliso Niguel and Aquinas.
13. JSerra Catholic (23-14) -1
Not the end of the year that the Lions had hoped for, losing to Crean Lutherna in the D1 championship and Mater Dei in the state playoffs. They had a significant turnaround, though. They were 14-11 at one point, but turned it on with wins over Pasadena, Loyola, Rolling Hills Prep and Inglewood during the postseason.
14. Inglewood (28-7) –
Five-star Jason Crowe Jr. and the Sentinels end the season with back-to-back losses to JSerra and Damien. They boasted wins over Fairmont Prep, St. Bernard, Aquinas, Pasadena, Cypress and Millikan to keep the No. 14 spot.
15. Corona del Mar (27-4) –
The Sea Kings end their season with three straight losses in the Open Division, officially knocking them out of state contention. They finish the year with wins over Los Alamitos, Edison, Cypress, Great Oak, Tesoro and Orange Lutheran.
16. Mater Dei (22-16) NEW
Welcome back to the top 25 Mater Dei. They reenter after an outstanding state playoff run, knocking out La Mirada and JSerra before losing to Bosco in double overtime.
17. Rancho Christian (22-11) -1
Rancho Christian ends their year with back-to-back losses to Crean Lutheran and VCA of San Diego. They drop only spot because of their impressive resume, boasting wins over Millikan, St. Francis, Rancho Verde, Cypress and Pasadena.
18. Millikan (24-7) -1
The Rams had their season ended by Rancho Christian in the quarterfinals. It’s been a great year for Millikan, finishing with wins over Windward, Thousand Oaks, Long Beach Poly, Hesperia and SPXSMA. All seven of their losses have come to ranked opponents.
19. Village Christian (24-4) – 1
Village Christian ends their season at the No.19 spot following a quarterfinal loss to Crean Lutheran. They boasted wins over Mira Costa, Pacifica Christian, Heritage Christian, Crespi and Palisades.
20. Fairmont Prep (19-12) -1
Fairmont Prep gets its season ended by Inglewood in the D1 quarterfinals. They drop one spot despite wins over Brentwood School, Crossroads, San Gabriel Academy, Mira Costa, Los Alamitos and La Habra.
21. Brentwood School (26-4) -1
The Eagles drop to the No.21 spot after their season ended against Fairmont Prep in the playoffs. They boasted wins over Long Beach Poly, Windward, Crossroads, Millikan, and St. Bernard.
22. Mira Costa (24-6) -1
The Mustangs fell to Village Christian in the playoffs, but still finished with an impressive 24-6 record. They boasted wins over Oaks Christian, St. Bernard, Gahr and Loyola.
23. Windward (18-12) -1
Even though their season ended in overtime to Millikan in the postseason, Windward remains at the No.23 spot following its blowout win over Bishop Montgomery. They also boasted wins over Roosevelt, Campbell Hall, SXPSMA, Palisades, Westlake and Long Beach Poly.
24. Bishop Montgomery (24-3) -1
The Knights end their season in disappointing fashion. Windward ended their season in the first round of the playoffs and snapped their 14-game win streak. The Knights finish the year with Wins over Bishop Amat, Campbell Hall, Palisades, San Gabriel Academy, St. Francis and Maranatha.
25. St. Francis (21-9) -1
St. Francis’s season came to an end in round one of the postseason in a 78-59 loss to Rancho Christian. They boasted wins over Bishop Alemany, Chaminade, Brentwood School, Crespi, Servite, Long Beach Poly, Maranatha and Arcadia.
