Northern California Football Player Rankings

The first-ever NorCal Top 100 by West Coast Preps is here, which ranks the region’s top 100 football players ahead of the 2025 season:

  1. Ryder Lyons (Folsom, Senior, Quarterback)

There are few like him across America. The five-star QB has all the accolades: 2024 California Gatorade Player of the Year, 2023 West Coast Preps Sacramento Football Athlete of the Year, multi-time section champion, 2023 state champion. Lyons is a BYU commit, a five-star by 247 Sports and the No. 21 player overall nationally. Over 30 schools offered. 

  1. Tommy Tofi (Riordan, Senior, Offensive Lineman)

The Oregon commit says it all as the junior offensive lineman put up another strong season on the line for Riordan. The 6’7”, 350-pound tackle earned first-team All-WCAL and will be a top-tier player heading into next season for the Crusaders. Tofi is ranked as the fifth-highest rated player at his position in the country, according to 247 Sports. 

  1. Jameson Powell (Folsom, Senior, Receiver)

Another national prospect at Folsom, Powell is a four-star Ole Miss commit who’s achieved at the highest of levels. Finished with 920 receiving yards and 16 touchdowns in Folsom’s run to a fourth straight D1 section title last fall en route to being named the Sierra Foothill League’s Offensive Player of the Year. That comes after his 1,231 receiving yards in the 2023 state title run – including the game-winning touchdown catch with 20 seconds left. 

  1. Vlad Dyakonov (Folsom, Senior, Offensive Line)

NorCal’s fastest-rising recruit? He may just be. The 6’6, 275-pound offensive tackle is a consensus four-star prospect and now committed to USC. Twenty-nine Division 1 schools have offered the national recruit. 

  1. Rahzario Edwards (Grant, Junior, Tight End/Receiver)

The 6’6 Rahzario Edwards is a freak. Plain and simple. Edwards caught 51 passes for 921 yards and 14 touchdowns as a sophomore en route to the state title – Grant’s second in three years – and also had the game-winning catch in the section championship. Edwards is a consensus four-star, top 100 prospect in his class with 23 Division 1 offers and counting. 

  1. Kenneth Moore III (St. Mary’s-Stockton, Senior, Receiver)

The national prospect lives up to the billing and then some. On this very list as a sophomore, Moore returned as a junior after catching 47 passes for 840 yards and 10 touchdowns, rushing for 541 yards and five touchdowns on 9.8 yards per carry, churning out 224 punt return and 240 kick return yards, and breaking up four passes for the SJS D2 semifinalists. Moore is a four-star UCLA commit. And he’s top five as a senior. 

  1. Cynai Thomas (Riordan, Senior, Wide Receiver) 

WCAL’s Wide Receiver of the Year and a member of the league’s first team, Thomas had a huge year as a junior for the Crushers. One of the hardest match-ups in the region due to his blazing speed, Thomas finished the year with 47 receptions for 729 yards and 12 touchdowns. Holding over 20 D1 offers as a junior, Thomas committed to Oregon State. 

  1. Jaden Jefferson (De La Salle, Senior, Athlete) 

One of the strongest covers at the defensive back position, Jefferson once again strung together an All-EBAL season honor with his lockdown ability in 2024. Although he is a smaller player, his ability to utilize his speed makes him a tough player for any wide receiver to find space against. Offensively as well, he’s as electric as they come–especially on special teams as a returner. He ran a state-record 10.06 seconds in the 100-meter dash at the CIF state championships. Jefferson is committed to North Carolina. 

  1. Israel Briggs (Clovis, Senior, Tight End)

The 6’6 tight end is a Miami commit and a freak of nature. A consensus four-star prospect, Briggs is the No. 72 player overall for the 2026 class in America, per 247 Sports, and chose Miami over 26 other offers. Moved from Redwood-Visalia to Clovis this month. 

  1. Brandon Smith (Central East, Senior, Running Back)

There is zero stopping Brandon Smith. Rushing for 1,871 yards and 25 touchdowns – alongside over 300 receiving yards – for a Central team that made it all the way to the state championship, Smith was on another level. And he collected 71 tackles (12.5 for loss) and two interceptions. Committed to Arizona over 12 other offers. 

  1. Jhadis Luckey (Clayton Valley Charter, Senior, Running Back) 

Luckey had a breakout season for California last season. One of the fastest players in the Bay Area out of the backfield, Luckey was able to use his speed to get out into open space and was the key playmaker on his way to earning Co-BVAL Offensive Player of the Year. Ran for over 2,000 yards and finished with 33 touchdowns, the highest mark by a position player on the season. The Fresno State commit is looking to have another record-breaking season, this time in the Black and Red of Clayton Valley Charter. 

  1. Koby Shabazz (Grant, Junior, Receiver)

Koby Shabazz is an all-timer, and he’s only a junior. Last year, he caught the game-winning touchdown pass in Grant’s second state championship win in the last three years, capping off a campaign with 1,201 receiving yards and 15 touchdowns, plus another two interceptions and two forced fumbles defensively. Shabazz is a three-star prospect who’s played in two state finals, won two section titles and is committed to Sacramento State. 

  1. Isaiah Ene (Granite Bay, Senior, Athlete)

Sacramento State commit. Soon-to-be four-year varsity starter. Three-star prospect. Ene produced another magnificent fall in the Sierra Foothill League last year, rushing for 1,401 yards and 21 touchdowns, catching two touchdown passes and registering 88 tackles with seven pass breakups. Ene has 253 career tackles in three years of varsity and 2,993 rushing yards. 

  1. Deagan Rose (Clovis, Senior, Quarterback)

Prolific. Explosive. Unstoppable. Rose surpassed 2,700 passing yards each of the last two seasons, topped with 2,729 passing yards and 26 touchdowns his junior year. Rose is a three-star prospect who committed to Oregon State over 16 other offers. 

  1. Dakota Dickson (Monte Vista, Senior, Defensive Lineman)

Dickson followed up a breakout sophomore season with a stellar junior year for Monte Vista. A member of the second team All-EBAL, Dickson’s size and strength on the defensive line disrupted opponents’ offenses all year long, as not only is he a strong run stopper, but a strong pass rusher as well. Finished last season with 48 total tackles, a team-leading 12.5 TFLs and four passes deflected. The SMU commit will be a force on the line in his upcoming senior season. 

  1. EJ Morgan (Central East, Senior, Receiver)

Central East is absolutely loaded, and Morgan is among the headliners. Led Central East to Central Section and Northern California crowns his junior year while accounting for 647 yards and eight touchdowns on 45 receptions. Consensus three-star recruit committed to Cal. 

  1. Rahsjon Duncan (McClymonds, Senior, Athlete) 

Big-time star elevating through the ranks of this Oakland powerhouse. A two-way star, Duncan can do it all. Offensively, this past season, Duncan was electric posting over 700 yards and seven touchdowns. The three-star playmaker committed to Washington.

  1. Reeve Slone (Rocklin, Senior, Quarterback)

All he does is win. Slone led Rocklin to the D2 section crown as a sophomore – the program’s first since 2009 – and then engineered another run to the final in 2024. Slone had over 2,000 passing yards in each of those two seasons and can extend plays with his feet, too. A three-star QB committed to Nevada. 

  1. Jason Hill Jr. (Folsom, Senior, Defensive Back/Athlete)

Now a Stanford commit, Jason Hill Jr. has fit right in at Folsom. After intercepting six passes and starring as a receiver as a sophomore at Granite Bay, he built off that with a Division 1 section title and All-Sierra Foothill League honors as a junior. A consensus three-star prospect who chose Stanford over nine other offers. 

  1. Nemyah Telona (De La Salle, Senior, Lineman) 

The next big talent on the defensive line at De La Salle, Telona is primed to take a leap in his upcoming senior season. An EBAL All-League Member, Telona finished the year last year with 38 tackles, seven TFLs and three sacks. Also starting on the offensive line, he has a combination in size and speed that makes him a tough matchup on either side of the ball. Telona is committed to Cal, and will be a star to watch on a loaded Spartans defense this upcoming season. 

  1. Michael Langi (Riordan, Senior, Offensive Lineman) 

At 6 ‘3”, 265 pounds, there’s not much getting by Michael Langi. Earned second-team All-WCAL honors and has signed to play at Arizona over schools such as Arizona State, Colorado, Penn State, and San Diego State. Langi will be one of the top players at his position and a key piece in Riordan’s superstar-level offense. 

  1. Michael Mitchell (Riordan, Senior, Quarterback)

Class of 2026 playmaker Michael Mitchell, has proven to be the offensive leader for the Crusaders in multiple seasons of play. In his most recent season of play, he finished with 2,759 passing yards and 35 total touchdown passes. As a current Vanderbilt commit, Mitchell has put himself on the map by all means. Showcasing he can be a dual threat, the quarterback rushed for 325 yards and two touchdowns as well. 

  1. Langdon Horace (Edison-Stockton, Senior, Athlete)

The three-star recruit zips past defenders and makes it look easy, even though it surely is not. Horace eclipsed 1,000 receiving yards with 1,005 total and 10 touchdowns as a junior, particularly stepping up to lift Edison into the playoffs after a 1-4 start. Horace committed to prestigious Stanford.

  1. Malakai Taufoou (Serra, Junior, Safety)  

Another Serra standout, Taufoou is one of the top players in the secondary across the Bay Area this season. As a sophomore, he was a high-impact player, finishing the year with 35 total tackles and three interceptions. Taufoou is a highly coveted recruit, holding offers from Ohio State, Michigan, BYU, Arizona State, and Washington.

  1. Perrion Williams (Riordan, Senior, Athlete) 

The three-star showstopper at Saint Francis in his junior season. He totaled 48 catches, 780 receiving yards and nine total touchdowns, being named to first-team all WCAL as a wide receiver. Now at Riordan, Williams will look to make his impact felt on a team with massive expectations this season. He is committed to Utah.

  1. John Fifita (Saint Francis, Senior, Offensive Lineman) 

One of many offensive line talents in the WCAL, Fifita was a stud last season for the CCS Champion Lancers. A big frame at 6’6, 350 pounds, Fifita is a massive, powerful presence in the trenches for Saint Francis. The first team all-WCAL talent and three-star is committed to USC.  

  1. Wes Burford (Oakdale, Senior, Athlete)

The question becomes: What can’t he do? Wes Burford is a two-way star, the 2024-25 West Coast Preps Sacramento Men’s Athlete of the Year and a state qualifier in track. Oh, anyway, he’s an Air Force football commit coming off a ridiculous junior campaign where he finished with an astounding 2,678 rushing yards – 19th-most nationally – and 32 touchdowns for the Sac-Joaquin Section Division 3 championship finalists. Also collected 92 tackles, nine tackles for loss, three fumbles recoveries, two forced fumbles and one interception. 

  1. Troy Bowens (Sutter, Junior, Defensive End/Tight End)

Every bit the national prospect he’s touted to be, the 6’5 and 252-pound Bowens took the world by storm as a sophomore, registering 76 tackles and 19 tackles for loss in Sutter’s run to the Golden Empire League title and the Sac-Joaquin Section Division 5 championship game. Also hit 17.71 miles per hour of game speed in a Catapult One wearable vest – crazy numbers for someone of his stature (and in the rain). Bowens is the No. 189 prospect overall nationally in the 2027 class by 247 Sports and boasts 11 Division 1 offers. 

  1. Kenneth Ward (Pittsburg, Sophomore, Athlete) 

Just a sophomore, Ward is shaping up to be one of the Bay’s top prospects in the future and a big name to watch at Pittsburg. A big part for the NCS D1 Champion Pirates a season ago as a freshman, Ward was a weapon with his speed on the outside at wide receiver, finishing the year with 560 yards on 21 receptions (almost an average of 27 yards per reception) and a team-leading nine touchdowns. Not too mention as well, Ward was strong in the secondary as well. Only going into his sophomore year, Ward holds offers from North Carolina, Tennessee, Washington, Utah, and Arizona. 

  1. RJ Mosley (Pittsburg, Senior, Wide Receiver) 

One of many two-way studs, Mosley is a playmaker for Pittsburg on both sides of the football. A First-Team All-BVAL selection at wide receiver a season ago, the three-star recruit finished the year with 594 receiving yards on 48 receptions, scoring eight touchdowns. Mosley is committed to the University of Arizona.  

  1. Jayden Nicholas (De La Salle, Senior, Defensive Back) 

One of the best pure coverage defensive backs in the region, Nicholas is a guy who can erase your best wide receiver night in and night out. A key part of the Spartans’ dominant run in the Bay Area this year, Nicholas’s IQ for the game and preparation propelled him to have another great season in the De La Salle secondary. Committed to Montana, Nicholas continues to show why he’s one of the best defensive backs in the area. 

  1. Anthony Harrington (Amador Valley, Senior, Athlete) 

Heading into the season, Harrington was quoted to be the best two-way football player the Amador Valley coaching staff has seen in the last 10 years and he proved why in 2024. A stud on both sides of the football, Harrington finished the year with 1,503 receiving yards and 15 touchdowns, while defensively was lockdown in the secondary for the Dons. Earning First Team All-EBAL honors in 2024, the Idaho State commit is a name to watch heading into his senior season next year. 

  1. Jermaine Missouri (Rodriguez, Senior, Athlete)

The 6’5 Jermaine Missouri was, simply put, unstoppable last year. And then some. Led Rodriguez to its first-ever 10-0 regular season, a Monticello Empire League title and totaled 1,119 receiving yards and 19 touchdowns, alongside 31 tackles, five pass breakups and three interceptions. What’s in store this fall?

  1. Jasen Womack (Oak Ridge, Senior, Athlete)

The Womack family is something else. Jasen’s brother, Justen, is a Division 1 prospect. So is Jasen. Jasen was the Double Axe Award winner for Oak Ridge in 2024 as he accumulated 13 rushing touchdowns, four receiving touchdowns and 37 catches, 75 tackles and an eye-popping seven interceptions. That followed up a sophomore year where he intercepted two passes with 13 pass breakups and 86 tackles. alongside running for 964 yards and seven touchdowns. Three-star Cal Poly commit. 

  1. Demaje Riley (Tulare Union, Junior, Receiver)

Stopping Riley is not for the faint of heart. Already committed to UCLA, Riley has shown why he’s a high-level future Big Ten player. Up to 1,934 receiving yards in two years of varsity ball, and scored three times on the ground. 

  1. Jaxon Bell (Liberty, Senior, Running Back) 

The Bell family never disappoints in Brentwood. Now, there is Jaxon, and what a star he is. In his junior year, he ran for 1,805 yards and 14 touchdowns, plus another 474 receiving yards and six touchdowns. Keyed Liberty’s run to the NCS Division 2 semifinals. Committed to Eastern Washington over the summer.

  1. Kahlio Vaetoe (Cardinal Newman, Junior, Defensive Lineman) 

A massive force up front for Cardinal Newman, Vaetoe might be the North Bay’s next top prospect at the defensive tackle position. In his first year playing varsity football, Vaetoe was key for Newman’s success, finishing the year with 49 tackles, seven TFLs and 3.5 sacks–making his way to being selected to the Redwood Empire-Adobe First-Team All-League. Not too mention as well, he was used as a full back and punched in four touchdowns. Vaetoe holds offers from USC, Oregon State, Sacramento State, San Diego State, and Cal. 

  1. DJ Sanchez (Riordan, Junior, Defensive End) 

Sanchez put together a massive sophomore year at Riordan and was a big presence on the defensive line for Riordan. A strong pass rusher, Sanchez broke out finishing the year with 77 total tackles, eight sacks and 7.5 TFLs. Sanchez holds offers from San Diego State, UNLV, and Utah. 

  1. Chase Cahoon (Saint Francis, Senior, Linebacker)

Cahoon is a menace in the middle of Saint Francis’ defense, and was a key contributor for their run to the CCS championship. A hard-hitting linebacker, Cahoon finished the year with 67 tackles, 7.5 TFLs and a sack in eight games last season. Cahoon is staying local for college ball in the peninsula and committed to Stanford over this summer. 

  1. Zion Secrease (Sacred Heart Cathedral, Junior, Wide Receiver)

Secrease is a massive talent on a frisky Sacred Heart Cathedral team this upcoming season. A massive breakout season last year as a sophomore, the First Team All-WCAL wideout finished the year with 896 yards and 10 touchdowns on 60 receptions. Secrease, a top-tier route runner with a lot of speed, holds offers from Sacramento State, Southern Miss and Texas State, but more offers are expected to be pouring in. 

  1. Truly Bell (Pittsburg, Senior, Defensive Back) 

A major part of the Pittsburg secondary, Bell was elite in coverage this season for Pittsburg. An All-BVAL honorable mention as a junior, Bell intercepted three passes with eight passes defended. Committed to Oregon State over offers from Georgia, Arizona, San Diego State, and Fresno State. Expect Bell to raise his play to another level heading into his senior season. 

  1. Sefanaia Alataini (Saint Francis, Senior, Safety) 

Alataini is a stud for the Saint Francis defense. A BYU commit, Alataini can alter a game with his physicality and his ability to make the key plays out in the secondary. An All-WCAL selection, Alataini finished the year with 77 total tackles, 3.5 TFLs, and two picks–making his presence known. 

  1. Oshea Webb (Clovis East, Senior, Defensive Back)

Ballhawk, ballhawk, ballhawk. Throwing Webb’s way is a major mistake, as he totaled five interceptions as a junior. And he flies to the football, resulting in 59 tackles. Committed to Utah State and earned 14 offers. 

  1. Bayon Harris (Central East, Junior, Athlete)

Is another run towards the state final in store? Bayon Harris is coming off a campaign of 763 receiving yards and 11 touchdowns during that illustrious 2024 ride. Eight schools have offered: Arizona State, Colorado State, Fresno State, Montana State, Northern Arizona, Sacramento State, San Diego State, Texas State.

  1. Corey Waters (McNair, Senior, Athlete)

Every bit a next-level talent and it showed in just seven games played last year. Waters had 739 receiving yards and 14 touchdowns offensively, but that was just the start with three more interceptions and two forced fumbles defensively. Three-star recruit with Cal and Colorado State offers. 

  1. Colton Hogge (Twelve Bridges, Senior, Offensive Line)

Good luck getting past Colton Hogge, a ferocious 6’5 and 260-pound offensive lineman who is bound for Division 1 football like his father. Colton guided a Twelve Bridges offense that averaged 305.9 rushing yards per game and 9.2 yards per carry in 2024 en route to a second straight undefeated regular season and a trip to the state final. Colton is a three-star Nevada commit. 

  1. Roger Vanderhoef (Grant, Senior, Offensive Line)

A man amongst boys, the 6’8 and 340-pound Vanderhoef sealed the edge with ease for the 2024 state champions and three-time defending section and NorCal champs. Technically sound, moves well laterally, down the field. Checks every box. Still scratching the surface, too. Vanderhoef is a three-star Sacramento State commit who also announced offers from California, Idaho, Northern Arizona, San Diego State, Texas A&M and UNLV. 

  1. Judge Nash (Riordan, Senior, Athlete) 

Nash is speed out on the football field–and his impact on both sides of the football is key for a loaded Riordan team. On only 22 receptions, Nash averaged 13 yards per catch and finished the year with 287 yards and three touchdowns at Wide Receiver. He’s uses his speed in coverage as well, and will be a key piece in the secondary this upcoming year. He committed to Harvard over offers from Arkansas, Ole Miss, Iowa State, and Washington.  

  1. Giovanni Hodge (Grant, Junior, Defensive End)

The 6’4, 235-pound edge rusher is every bit a nationally prospect with six offers: Arizona, Arizona State, California, Colorado State, San Diego State and San Jose State. The defending state champion is a consensus four-star prospect. 

  1. Tyree Sams (Clovis North, Senior, Receiver)

Clovis North is a championship program, with Tyree Sams a star for this high-level program. Sams had 534 receiving yards and seven touchdowns, plus one interception last fall. Sams is a three-star Cal commit who’s also run a blazing 10.47-second 100-meter dash.

  1. Darnell Turner (Granite Bay, Senior, Athlete)

One of two Division 1 – and Sacramento State – commits in Granite Bay’s 2026 class, Turner checks all the boxes. Last year, the uber-fast and explosive Darnell Turner had 606 receiving yards and four touchdowns, ran for another score, totaled 419 kickoff return and 100 punt return yards, and tallied 51 tackles with four interceptions and four pass breakups. Three-star prospect.

  1. Isaac Pierce (Oak Ridge, Junior, Athlete)

An up-and-coming Division 1 talent out of heavyweight Oak Ridge. Lockdown cornerback who broke up eight passes and intercepted four others as a sophomore, and a huge playmaker at receiver who caught 32 passes for 709 yards and four touchdowns. Keyed Oak Ridge’s return to the Sac-Joaquin Section Division 1 championship game. Already holds a UNLV offer. 

  1. Isaiah Stephen (Grant, Junior, Defensive Tackle)

Isaiah Stephen is a beast. A winner. A two-time NorCal champion, a 2024 state champion and a two-time All-Sacramento honoree. Those accolades speak for themselves, and so do the offers. The top 640 prospect nationally in the 2027 class boasts offers from Colorado State, Sacramento State, San Jose State and Texas State. 

  1. Lua DeBerry (Folsom, Junior, Defensive Line)

“Absolute monster amongst men on our d-line,” said Folsom head coach Paul Doherty last year. The sophomore proved that en route to First Team All-SFL honors, a section title and a campaign where he roared to 50 tackles and 15.5 tackles for loss. He is another Division 1 type talent at Folsom with four offers: Idaho, New Mexico, Sacramento State and San Diego State. 

  1. Rob Larson (Folsom, Junior, Receiver)

The 6’2 Rob Larson is another three-star recruit at Folsom whose offer count continues to soar. He is up to 10 offers, a consensus three-star prospect and just had 503 receiving yards for the tour-time defending section champs. As a sophomore. In a loaded Folsom receiver room. 

  1. Donovan Dunmore (Buchanan, Senior, Defensive Back)

This 2026 class in the Central Section is superb, especially the talents of Dunmore. A consensus three-star prospect, Dunmore committed to Oregon State and also earned 12 other Division 1 offers. 

  1. Justen Womack (Oak Ridge, Junior, Athlete)

The Womack family – and the young talent at Oak Ridge – is phenomenal. Starred next to his brother this past year as a top three tackler for the Trojans with 84 tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss, three fumble recoveries, two interceptions and two pass breakups. He even had a couple scores defensively. Boasts a UNLV offer. 

  1. Savion Bandy (Grant, Senior, Defensive Back)

All Savion Bandy does is win and make plays, like he did at North Coast Section heavyweight El Cerrito and will now do at defending state champion Grant. Like Carter Meeks, Bandy is the No. 1,597 player in the 2026 class by 247 Sports. Nine schools have offered: Arizona, Arizona State, Portland State, Sacramento State, San Diego State, San Jose State, UNLV, Washington State and Wyoming. 

  1. Isaiah Williams (Folsom, Senior, Wide Receiver)

It’s safe to say Folsom is loaded, huh? Williams garnered 11 Division 1 offers before committing to Nevada, who obtained the No. 1,874 player by 247 Sports and No. 1,673 by On3. Williams caught 29 passes for 377 yards in a loaded Folsom receiver room as a junior, guiding the Bulldogs to their fourth straight Sac-Joaquin Section Division 1 title. 

  1. Nikko Juarez (Manteca, Junior, Running Back)

The elite Manteca running back tradition lives on, and Juarez may finish right near the top when it is all said and done. The third-year varsity player soared to a whopping 1,508 rushing yards and 21 touchdowns on 9.5 yards per carry for the 2024 Valley Oak League champions. Nevada, Sacramento State and Washington State are Juarez’s three current offers. 

  1. Carlton Perrilliat (Salesian, Senior, Athlete) 

A two-way stud at Salesian, Perrilliat is much to watch on both sides of the football and a name to watch this upcoming season. At 6’5, 195 pounds, Perrilliat is a freak athlete at his size. He had a massive junior year, finishing the year with 1,078 yards and a whopping 17 receiving touchdowns. Defensively, he picked off three passes last season and finished with 30 tackles in the Pride secondary. Holds offers from Colorado State and Weber State. 

  1. Tyran Hicks (St. Ignatius, Senior, Defensive Back) 

Last year’s WCAL Defensive Back of the Year, Hicks returns to SI as one of the top players in the secondary this upcoming season. In 10 games last season, Hicks finished with 13 passes defended, 47 tackles, six TFLs, and an interception. He also added 230 yards and two touchdowns offensively as a wide receiver. Hicks recently committed to Idaho State.   

  1. Daniel Rolovich (San Marin, Senior, Quarterback)

The class of 2026 offensive leader for San Marin has taken a step in the right direction after a monster junior season. Rolovich was an issue for opposing defenses as he was able to showcase his dual-threat skillset. He finished with 1,790 passing yards and 21 touchdowns through the air. On the ground, he carried the ball 106 times for a 501 rushing yard season, capped off with six touchdowns. Committed to San Jose State, Rolovich could be in store for a massive senior season in the North Bay. 

  1. Mickey Williams (Sacred Heart Cathedral, Senior, Defensive End) 

Williams is expected to have a major role on Sacred Heart Cathedral’s defense this season. A downhill pass rusher, Williams can get to the quarterback in a hurry and make the plays in the backfield. Williams committed to Arizona State.

  1. Prince Staten (McClymonds, Junior, Defensive Back) 

At 6’3, 165 pounds, Staten is a big presence on the outside for McClymonds. Strong in coverage, Staten’s combination of size and speed allows him to stay with any receiver and give them a challenge on the outside. A physical player, Staten uses his body as a strength and to his advantage. Staten holds seven D1 offers, including to Washington State, West Virginia, San Jose State and Sacramento State. 

  1. Zephaniah Sessay (Redwood-Visalia, Senior, Linebacker)

Sessay is staying local, committing to Fresno State over seven other offers. Sessay totaled 52 tackles his junior season of high school. 

  1. Amareon McKenzie (Edison-Stockton, Senior, Athlete)

Edison of Stockton features some of the best talent, including the three-star in Amareon McKenzie. McKenzie – the No. 166 athlete and No. 2,051 player overall by 247 – has announced offers from Georgetown, Northern Arizona, Sacramento State and UNLV. And he’s produced, rushing for 564 yards and three touchdowns, and totaling 73 tackles as a junior. 

  1. Dominic Coelho (Rocklin, Senior, Defensive Line)

The Rocklin defensive lineman became one of the hottest commodities on the circuit, earning six offers before announcing his commitment to San Diego State. All of three stars at 6’4, 240 pounds and who collected eight tackles for loss in Rocklin’s run to the Sac-Joaquin Section Division 2 championship game as a junior. Won the section in 2023. 

  1. Bryce McDaniel (Hughson, Senior, Tight End)

His brother was a four-star QB and now at San Jose State. The 6’3 Bryce is his own superb talent, a reigning section champion. The multi-sport star erupted for 803 receiving yards and 14 touchdowns his junior year. Three-star prospect committed to Fresno State over offers from New Mexico State, San Jose State and Washington State. 

  1. Duncan Broughton (Jesuit, Senior, Offensive Line)

Jesuit’s offensive line is bruising, and the 6’5 and 280-pound Duncan Broughton is a focal point as to why. An ideal offensive tackle and three-star prospect who’s announced offers from Air Force, Montana, Northern Arizona and San Diego State. 

  1. Ronnie Noa (Grant, Senior, Offensive Line)

He was back on the postseason recognition list again as a First Team All-Sacramento honoree in 2024, helping pave the Grant rushing attack to 7.0 yards per carry and a potent passing attack. Grant won its third straight NorCal crown and second state title in the last three years. 

  1. Julian Bruno (Grant, Sophomore, Linebacker)

Broke out in the biggest of ways his freshman year. Led the way to Grant’s second state title in three years while registering the second-most tackles on the team (84) in addition to seven tackles for loss, Offers already include Oklahoma State, Sacramento State and San Jose State. 

  1. Josiah Andrews (Rocklin, Senior, Athlete)

An all-region basketball talent who excels on the gridiron. Boundary corner for Rocklin’s hard-nosed defense who guarded the other opponent’s top receiver each week and picked off three passes for the D2 section championship finalists in 2024. The reigning First Team All-SFL selection is a three-star Northern Arizona commit. Also offered by Air Force, Morgan State, Navy and Sacramento State. 

  1. Lucio Dominguez (Grant, Senior, Defensive Line)

The reigning All-Sacramento honoree is a force in the trenches for the Pacers of Grant Union High School. Won a third straight NorCal title and second state crown in the past three years. Expect the biggest of senior years. 

  1. Chase Perino (Central Catholic, Senior, Athlete)

A burner, a speedster, versatile, unstoppable. Perino is a baseball standout and football star who caught 35 passes for 639 yards and seven touchdowns last season, alongside 46 tackles defensively. Three-star committed to Fresno State. 

  1. Gabe Casanovas (St. Vincent de Paul, Senior, Quarterback) 

The 6’2 and 190-pound quarterback led his team to the Division 4-AA state championship this season–St. Vincet de Paul’s second straight state title. With all of that success, he also put on a display of great talent, finishing his junior season with 2,780 passing yards and 38 total touchdown passes. On the ground, he accounted for 967 rushing yards and nine total touchdowns, earning the Redwood Empire Bay League’s First-Team quarterback spot. Currently holds an offer to Nevada. 

  1. Skylar Tiatia (Riordan, Senior, Linebacker) 

Gearing up for a big senior year, Tiatia is a stud for Riordan at the linebacker position. A bullet in the middle of Crusader’s defense, Tiatia finished the year with 110 total tackles, six TFLs and two sacks. He committed to San Jose State this past April. 

  1. John McClellan (Rancho Cotate, Senior, Linebacker) 

McClellan is coming off a monster season up north at Rancho Cotate. A physical presence up the middle for the Cougars, McLellan is a tackle machine, last season averaging over 15 tackles per game. Finished the year with 157 total tackles in 10 games, along with five sacks. McClellan is committed to Colorado State. 

  1. Terrence Johnson (Valley Christian, Senior, Offensive Tackle) 

Every year, Valley Christian’s offense contains elite, elite players on their offensive line–and Johnson fits that mold once again. At 6’5, 275 pounds, Johnson committed to Nevada over the summer over offers from Washington State, San Diego State, UNLV and Fresno State. 

  1. Crosby Kelley (Campolindo, Senior, Athlete) 

A San Diego State commit, Kelley is a star for Campolindo on both sides of the football. Defensively last season at the defensive end position, Crosby shined finishing the year with 62 total tackles, 15 TFLs and nine sacks. Although he only had 14 receptions last season, Kelley is a great pass blocker for the Cougars’ run-first style offense. 

  1. Quinn Martinez (Manteca, Senior, Athlete)

Martinez really does it all. The Valley Oak League’s co-MVP of 2024 and outright league champion ran back a kick, ran back a punt, had a pick six and totaled 628 yards of offense. In total, he picked off three passes and broke up five passes. A three-star prospect who’s announced 27 offers. 

  1. Caleb Jones (Vanden, Senior, Athlete)

A big-time playmaker out of defending state champion Vanden, Caleb Jones steps up under the brightest lights. Averaged 23 yards per reception while totaling 737 receiving yards in Vanden’s run to a second state crown since 2021. Three-star committed to Sacramento State. 

  1. Japheth Tofaeono (Pittsburg, Senior, Linebacker) 

Tofaeono is geared for a massive season this year in the middle of Pittsburg’s defense. Last season for the NCS Division 1 Champion Pirates, Tofaeono finished the year with 50 total tackles and a jaw-dropping 18 TFLs, showcasing his ability to push beyond the line of scrimmage and finish the tackle. 

  1. Daniel Mataele (Patterson, Senior, Lineman)

All of 6’5, 350 pounds and a tank at Patterson High School, where he’s played in two straight section championships and garnered all-league honors. The younger brother of former Patterson star running back Lolo Mataele, who is heading to Western Michigan, Daniel ris a three-star Sacramento State commit. 

  1. Michael Sargent (Sacred Heart Cathedral, Senior, Quarterback) 

Sargent is coming off a big season at Sacred Heart Cathedral–and is looking to lead SHC to the top this upcoming season. Sargent grew as the year went on, getting better and better throughout the season. Named the Co-WCAL Junior of the Year, Sargent threw for 2,855 yards and 26 touchdowns as well. He also showed off his ability to run the football, rushing for 248 yards and 10 touchdowns. Although he currently holds just one offer to Portland State, Sargent could garner more offers with a big senior year. 

  1. Lance Mitchell Jr. (Moreau Catholic, Senior, Defensive End)

Mitchell Jr. was a stud on the defensive line for Moreau Catholic. A key part to the state championship team, he brought an elite pass rusher to the Mariners defense–finishing the year with 73 total tackles, 15 TFLs, and six sacks. Mitchell Jr. is a San Jose State commit. 

  1. Isaiah Glover (Sacred Heart Cathedral, Sophomore, Defensive Back)

A First Team All-WCAL selection as a freshman, Glover is looking like one of the top recruits looking into the future at the class of 2028. Glover is super strong in coverage and is quick, finishing the year last season with 32 tackles and three passes defended. Glover has already gained national attention, holding six D1 offers, including Syracuse, Nevada, and Sacramento State. 

  1. Cole Goldsworthy (Amador Valley, Senior, Defensive End) 

A key piece for Amador Valley’s defense, Goldsworthy is a downhill pass rusher and a big-time playmaker for the Dons’ defensive line. Coming off a season where he was named to the EBAL First Team and helped Amador win a NorCal title, Goldsworthy recently committed to UNLV. 

  1. Berell Staples (McClymonds, Senior, Quarterback) 

A left-handed gunslinger, Staples is a star under center at the Mack House. He can zip the ball on a string to his target, and takes advantage of the coverage when the deep ball is open. Staples committed to Cal Poly over the summer. 

  1. Deuce Jones-Drew (De La Salle, Junior, Running Back) 

Following his father’s footsteps, Duece Jones-Drew is expected to take a bigger role in De La Salle’s offense. On only 61 carries last season, he ran for 447 yards and five touchdowns. Holding offers from UCLA, Arizona, Cal, SMU, San Diego State and UNLV, Jones-Drew is expected to be the lead back in De La Salle’s offense and could take an even bigger leap.  

  1. Trisshon Wright (De La Salle, Senior, Safety) 

A stud out in the secondary for De La Salle, Wright is a high-impact player in the Spartans’ ‘No Fly Zone.’ Playing only nine games this past season, Wright made his presence felt in his coverage while finishing the year with 21 total tackles, two TFLs and an interception. He currently holds offers to UNLV and Northern Arizona. 

  1. Jeovanni Henley (Serra, Junior, Athlete) 

A two-way stud for Serra, Henley is poised for a big junior season this upcoming year. Blazing speed, physicality, and just a strong sense for the game, Henley is an up-and-coming star out of San Mateo. A three-star recruit, he holds offers to Arizona, Arizona State, Cal, Oregon State, and San Jose State. 

  1. Adonyae Brown Brown (Riordan, Running Back) 

Brown is on a shortlist as one of the top running backs in his junior class of 2027. Averaging over seven yards per carry, Brown as Riordan’s RB2 finished the year with 913 yards and nine touchdowns on the season. Now having a bellcow roll in a high-explosive offense, Brown has the chance for a monster season in the Crusader uniform. He already holds offers to Arizona, Nevada, UNLV, Texas State, and Sacramento State.

  1. Cash Byington (Sonora, Senior, Athlete)

Cash. Money. That’s exactly what Cash Byington was during a storybook junior campaign for state champion Sonora. Byington soared to 1,101 rushing yards and 17 touchdowns, caught seven more touchdown passes with 478 yards, and collected 71 tackles with four tackles for loss and two interceptions. The state final was a masterpiece: three catches for 153 yards and two touchdowns, and one touchdown run. What’s in store this fall?

  1. Lance Lewis (Destiny Christian, Junior, Cornerback)

Moving from Elk Grove High School, Lance Lewis should be a dominant force at Destiny Christian as well. His sophomore production highlights that in the form of seven interceptions. Sacramento State offered Lewis in June.

  1. Devin Rasmussen (Edison-Stockton, Senior)

The St. Mary’s transfer immediately made his mark at Edison High School. Guided Edison to the playoffs after a 1-4 start last year – against a daunting schedule – while throwing for 2,422 yards and 23 touchdowns. Announced offers from Florida Atlantic, San Jose State and UNLV. 

  1. Jackson Batch (Chavez, Junior, Athlete)

Simply put, Jackson Batch is a freak. The 6’3 Batch is a standout long jumper, athlete, you name it and he is coming off a 13-touchdown sophomore campaign. Colorado State, Sacramento State and Washington State have all offered. 

  1. Chase Wyhlidko (Twelve Bridges, Senior, Linebacker/Running Back)

As resilient as they come. Wyhlidko is high school football at its finest. Registered a whopping 147 tackles, 14.5 tackles for loss, 10 hurries, two interceptions and two pass breakups for the first-time section and NorCal champs in 2024. Twelve Bridges, a third-year varsity program, is experiencing unprecedented success, players and leaders like Wyhlidko a big reason why. He’s expected to be a standout running back this fall, too. 

  1. Frederico-Mario Cobarubio (Valley Christian, Senior, Defensive Tackle)

 Another First Team All-WCAL talent, Cobarubio is a stud on the defensive line for Valley Christian. A downhill pass rusher, Cobarubio finished the year with 49 total tackles, six sacks, and three TFLs. He committed to Sacramento State over the summer. 

  1. Austin Krug (Los Gatos, Senior, Defensive Edge) 

The anchor for the Los Gatos defense, Krug is gearing up for a big senior year for the Wildcats. Coming off a high-impact season, Krug finished the year with 91 total tackles, four sacks, and two TFLs. Currently holding an offer to University of San Diego, more offers should be expected for the senior defensive end.
