Ty Johnson makes the big decision
Everybody wanted four-star Ty Johnson and rightfully so. Not only does he have a college-ready frame at 6-foot-2 and 201 pounds, but the kid can move as well.
He officially committed to Arizona after an official visit last week, passing on schools such as Georgia, Oregon, Washington and SMU. Johnson’s final three came down to Arizona, Kentucky and UCLA.
The wideout will join current Crean Lutheran teammate Braylen Ross in Arizona’s 2027 recruiting class.
Nevada gets a guy
Three-star quarterback Ryan Rakowski officially committed to Nevada last week, making him the highest-ranked quarterback to commit to the Wolfpack in the modern ranking era.
Rakowski had plenty of options with 21 Division 1 offers, but he ultimately chose Nevada over schools such as Auburn, Arkansas, Baylor and Ole Miss.
At 5-foot-11, Rakowski is the definition of a playmaker. He threw for 2,043 yards and 24 passing touchdowns in his junior season at Palos Verdes, while rushing for 707 yards and eight touchdowns.
Nevada has plenty to be excited about as they get one of the best dual threats in the country. Can Rakowski lead them to the top of the Mountain West?
The rise of Hunter Eligon
It’s been quite the offseason for three-star defensive lineman Hunter Eligon. After winning a CIF-SS Division 2 championship with Los Alamitos, Eligon transferred to Western for his senior season.
He’s been picking up offer after offer, but after 22 Division 1 scholarships, Eligon officially committed to Vanderbilt last week. He chooses Vandy over Arizona State, Minnesota, Boise State and Northwestern.
At 6-foot-3 and 285 pounds, Eligon will look to cause havoc in the SEC next year.
Big week for Cen10
Corona Centennial continues to make its case for DBU with a big week for the program. Three-star cornerback Augus Sanders committed to San Diego State, while safety Jaden Walk-Green made his long-awaited decision and committed to Washington.
Walk-Green is coming off an insane junior season, leading the state with 10 interceptions and six defensive touchdowns. The four-star is a ball hawk who is dangerous with the rock in his hands.
The 6-foot-188-pound defensive back chose UDub over Arizona State, Vanderbilt and UCLA. Walk-Green is also a standout in baseball and plans to play both sports at the next level.
San Diego State is on a mission
This has been one of the best recruiting classes of recent memory for SDSU. Not only did they bag up Sanders, but three-star wide receiver Travon Garrison and three-star running back Kamden Tillis also announced their commitment to SDSU.
Head coach Sean Lewis is building something down there.
The Austin Miller sweepstakes
Ohio State might have found its next wide receiver phenom and he’s only played one year of high school football. Austin Miller out of Bellflower High School is a freak of nature at 6-foot-5 and already boasts 19 Division 1 offers as he heads into his sophomore season.
He chose OSU over schools such as Miami, Florida State, Michigan, USC and Oregon. Bellflower has something brewing over there.
